Queen Bee

She was the queen bee, undisputed ruler of their very particular hive, the one all the other little insects followed. Her command was heeded by scientists and soldiers alike, her decisions the rules by which they lived. Her reign had started out harmless enough, trustworthy expedition leader, but then the contact with Earth had been cut and the Daedalus hadn't returned. Decisions had to be made, hard decisions, and Elizabeth had stepped up to make them.

And Rodney had been fine with that – until Elizabeth had decided to take one certain soldier as her mate. Knowing that Rodney had wanted the man for himself, she'd smiled, beatifically, uncaring. Now, he was seething in the privacy of his own quarters, trying to choose what was more important – stability, or his private little vendetta.

Not so surprisingly, his vendetta won. When it came down to it, he'd always been a rather egoistic person when it came to emotional things. And sharing simply wasn't his style, even if his affections had never been returned, or even voiced.

The trouble was, to put his plan of choice into action, he'd need to bypass some of the trickier security systems in her personal quarters. And there was only one way to get into Elizabeth's quarters these days.

She looked intrigued when he made his suggestion. More than that, she looked hungry. It took him every ounce of self control not to sneer.

Sheppard, on the other hand, looked wary, even as they both laid naked on Elizabeth's bed, learning each other's bodies, putting on a good show for her sake. Rodney could have come the second Sheppard's hand touched his cock for the first time, but he managed to control himself. He knew that this was the only chance he'd get, so he'd make it as good for Sheppard as he possibly could.

He would remember this in the nights to come, in all its sweaty, dirty glory.

"Fuck him," Elizabeth ordered, and Rodney proceeded to reduce the unflappable Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard to a writhing, moaning man who didn't want anything else but to come. And he got his wish – by the time Rodney pushed inside, the slickness with which he'd coated his cock was only partly lubricant.

He fucked Sheppard slowly, languidly, like he had all the time in the world. Sheppard was hard again by the time Elizabeth joined them, and together they brought him to his second climax that night. Rodney came with Sheppard and allowed himself a minute to cherish the moment before he pulled out to take care of Elizabeth. She smiled at him when she came and he smiled back, knowing she would not live to have another night of forced joy with her chosen partner.

They fell asleep in a tangled heap, in a room reeking of sex.

Elizabeth was getting dressed when Rodney woke up, the sound of the running shower telling him that Sheppard was in the bathroom. He yawned and stretched slowly, lingering, grinning in the face of her amusement.

"We should do this again some time," she said.

"Sure," he answered, still grinning.

She left, and Sheppard followed five minutes later, not once looking at Rodney as he dressed and walked out of the room. It stung, but it wasn't like Rodney wasn't used to rejection by now.

It gave him the proper motivation to do what he had come here for in the first place.

He met Sheppard briefly after breakfast, taking hold of the other man's arm when he tried to walk by.

"I'd look for something to do tonight, if I were you. Something well away from her quarters."

And that right there was the dangerous part, because he didn't think he could have been more obvious if he'd tried. Sheppard was looking at him, his face a strangely expressionless mask; if he was still loyal to Elizabeth, Rodney had just signed his own death sentence.

But what was life without a little risk here and there, eh?

Sheppard's face was still expressionless the next morning, when he made the citywide announcement that due to a tragic accident with halon gas, Dr. Weir had died in her sleep the night before. But when he handed Rodney Elizabeth's laptop, their fingers brushed together.

Well. I guess no one said I had to make it a happy threesome. *coughs*
